How-To

EAT PHO LIKE A PHO-NATIC!

Our pho is so rich in flavor that they are delicious consumed as-is from our kitchen. However, here are some tips from our pho-natics on how to further enjoy a hot bowl of pho:

"Pho is best consumed immediately when the bowl arrives while it is piping hot. The noodles expand and get soggy as the broth cools down so don't wait!"
--- Ryan, Fairfax

"Sprinkle some black pepper."
--- Trung, Clifton

"Because not everyone has the same taste and preference, add fish sauce (or salt if you can't stand the smell of fish sauce) if the broth is too bland for your taste."
--- Lam, Ashburn

"Add fresh cut jalapeno chilies if you like to spice things up."
--- Tuan, Centreville

"Add a squeeze of lime for a more tart taste."
--- Nhat, Oakton

"Pluck a few basil leaves from its sprigs. Tear the leaves into small pieces to add more herb flavor."
--- Mai, Alexandria

"Add a little bit of bean sprouts. Not too much because the cool bean sprouts will also cool down the temperature of the pho! (If you love pho with lots of bean sprouts but don't want to cool down your soup, you may want to ask for "steamed" bean sprouts.)"
--- Mike, Springfield

"Add a little bit of hoisin sauce to make the broth sweeter or some siracha hot sauce to make the broth spicier. Beware! Too much of these sauces will mask the true flavor of your pho. The siracha also has high sodium content which will make the broth taste saltier."
--- Marisa, Fairfax
